From conception until joining their new families. Our momma dogs are fed a complete grain free puppy food by Nutri Source. When pregnancy is confirmed they are moved to our whelping room away from the other dogs. It's  quiet and they have indoor/outdoor heated floors which are  temperature controlled. 

So today is birth day!!! 63 days from conception and they are finally here!! We are out with momma helping her deliver and making sure all puppies are breathing and nursing right away.  Checking for any deformities or open bellybuttons. Once mom is settled and all puppies have arrived bedding is changed to clean towels and mom fed some canned food with crushed up tums. Depending on how many puppies she is having This stage in delivery can sometimes last from a few hours to all night. 

Babies are now 2 weeks old and eyes and ears are opening.  Their first worming is done with pyrantel. Puppies are handled everyday from birth until they go home for human socialization.  Within the next few weeks they will all be moving more and starting to play. 

Puppies are now 4 weeks old. Moving around a lot more and finding their voices. Wrestling with each other and trying puppy food for the first time. Another round of worming is given with pyrantel.  Their personalities  are starting to show.

They 're on the move!!! Running, jumping playing, wrestling and trying to show their dominance to see whom is the boss. Eating dry puppy food by now. Mom says get them away from me as their little needle teeth hurt her teats. We remove mom at 7 weeks during the day to see how the litter will do without her. The litter receives their first vaccinations, safeguard worming meds for one week at this time. They also receive their toltrazuril to help prevent coccidia. Giardia preventive meds are given also. Nails are trimmed and first baths given. Weather permitting they are playing in the grass and running around exploring the yard. 

It's time to join their new families. 10 weeks old and fully weaned. At 9 weeks they were vet checked and weighed. Heart, lungs, ears, mouth and testicles checked to make sure both are there. Your new baby goes home with a new toy, a probiotic,  all shot, worming and vet records and a sample of their food they have been on along with coupons for food and treats.
